Dealing with Stomach Flu

Everyone in my family has the stomach flu right now.  I looked it up on the internet and it said to avoid solid foods and drink small amounts of clear liquids.  I did that and started to feel more comfortable in less than 24 hours, but if I do attempt to eat a small amount of solid food, my stomach starts cramping again.  I’ve started sipping some green juice when I get hungry and that seems to help.  I’m out of town and away from my juicer so I am drinking Green Machine by Naked Juice.  There is a Starbucks on the next block where I can conveniently access the juice.  I am also drinking hot and iced green tea and lots of water.

We are currently in NYC and this was planned as a big eating trip but that’s not working out so well right now.  I am going to try to find some oatmeal for breakfast tomorrow to gradually work my way back towards eating solids.  Tomorrow is my partner’s birthday and he has some big plans for how he wants to celebrate it – including lunch and dinner at nice restaurants.  This will be challenging.
